Setting Up Your Soundstage

Anya lets you turn your Discord server into a high-quality music space in just a few seconds. There are no complicated settings or installations to worry about. Once you invite Anya, the bot is ready to connect and play music directly in your voice channels. Unlike other bots that stay in channels doing nothing and lagging your server, Anya joins dynamically and streams only when people are actually listening, which keeps your server running fast and lag-free.

Step 1: Invite Anya to Your Server

First, click the invite button on our homepage to add Anya to your server list. This opens a secure authorization link from Discord. During the invitation, make sure to keep the default permission options checked. Anya needs standard channel viewing and voice connection permissions to read your commands and play music in your channels without any issues.

What is OAuth/Invite Authorization?

Think of this as Discord's secure key card. Instead of sharing any passwords, Discord just asks: "Can Anya join your server and send messages?" You click authorize, and the bot joins safely.

Step 2: Connect and Start Playing

After Anya joins your server, hop into any voice channel. Keep in mind that Anya won't join or stream music into an empty room. Type the play command followed by a song name or paste a direct Spotify or SoundCloud link. Anya will connect to our streaming servers, join your voice channel immediately, and start playing high-fidelity music for everyone.

What is a Streaming Server (Lavalink)?

This is the high-performance hardware that plays the actual music. Instead of loading the song on your own device or computer, Anya uses a dedicated music server to stream audio cleanly without lag or buffering.

Step 3: Prefix vs Slash Commands

Anya supports two different ways to run commands. You can use traditional Prefix Commands (like typing ?play) or modern Slash Commands (like typing /play). Slash Commands are recommended because Discord automatically shows you a list of options and commands as you type, making it much easier to use.

What is a Slash Command?

Think of it like an auto-complete search box. When you type /, Discord lists all available commands in a menu, so you don't have to memorize command names or spellings.

Looking for Commands?

If you need quick command lookups, use the help command in chat to display the full command directory.

Show Basic Commands
?play <query/URL> Initialize player and play track
?help Display the full command list
?ping Check API and Lavalink connection delays
?invite Generate the bot authorization invitation link

Playback Controls & Queue Management

Managing Your Music Queue

Controlling your music session is simple and straight-forward. When you search for a song, Anya adds it to a live queue. Everyone in the voice channel can add songs to this list, creating a shared playlist for your hangout space. Whether you are gaming with friends, studying, or hosting a party, you can adjust how this queue works on the fly.

What is a Music Queue?

Think of it as a collaborative waiting list. The songs play one after another in the order they were added, so everyone gets a turn to listen to their favorite tracks.

Controlling the Session Flow

If a song comes on that doesn't fit the mood, you can skip it instantly. If you find a track you love, you can loop it, or loop the entire queue to repeat your playlist in the background. You can also shuffle the queue to mix up the order and keep the music selection random and fun.

Autoplay and Queue Options

If you don't want to keep manually adding songs, just turn on Autoplay. When your queue runs out of songs, Anya automatically finds and queues similar music based on what you were listening to. You can also skip ahead by jumping directly to any song number in the queue, or remove specific songs to keep your playlist clean.

Precise Time Scrubbing

Use the seek command to skip to a specific part of a song, like ?seek 1:30 to jump to the middle of a track.

Show Playback Commands
?skip / ?previous Skip current track or rewinds to previous track
?nowplaying / ?queue Show active track details or list queue
?pause / ?resume Pause or resume player streams
?seek <timestamp> Jump to a specific time (e.g. 2:15 or 90)
?loop <track/queue/off> Enable repeat modes for song or queue list
?autoplay Toggle smart auto-append audio recommendations
?jump <index> / ?remove <index> Skip directly to track ID or delete it from queue
?volume <0-150> Adjust gain levels (max 150% boost)
?stop / ?disconnect Clear queue and standby or leave voice channel

DJ Mode & Server Settings

Controlling Voice Channel Chaos

In public servers or busy channels, music playback can get chaotic. Without any restrictions, multiple members might constantly fight over the bot, skipping songs halfway through, turning the volume all the way up, or clearing the queue to tease others. To prevent these interruptions and keep your music sessions peaceful, we created DJ Mode.

Why You Need DJ Mode

DJ Mode locks music controls (like skip, pause, volume, and filters) to users who have a specific DJ role. Regular members can still request and add songs to the queue, but only your moderators, hosts, or designated DJs can change the player settings or skip tracks. This keeps your server events structured and free from trolls.

When should you use DJ Mode?

Turn this on when hosting public events like karaoke, podcasts, or music quiz nights. It ensures that random users cannot disrupt the music while allowing them to suggest new songs.

Server-Wide Settings

Along with DJ Mode, server admins can change the default bot prefix to avoid conflicts with other bots, set a default server language to translate Anya's messages, or turn off the interactive buttons on player messages to keep text channels clean.

Show Config Commands
?dj set <@Role> Define the server's authorized DJ role
?dj toggle Enable or disable DJ-only control restrictions
?prefix <new_prefix> Change chat command trigger prefix (max 5 chars)
?language <locale> Translate server embeds (e.g. hi, en, es, ar)
?playerinteraction <enable/disable> Toggle control buttons on now-playing embeds

Equalizers & Audio Filters

Acoustic Filters & Equalizers

Different moments call for different audio vibes. Anya has real-time audio filters that change how your music sounds, letting you match the mood of your voice channel instantly.

What is an Audio Filter?

Think of it like the equalizer settings on your car stereo. It adjusts specific sound ranges, turning up the deep bass beats or sharpening voices so they sound crisp.

Gaming & Parties: Bassboost & Nightcore

Hosting an intense gaming night or a party? Turn on the Bassboost filter to add a deep, punchy low-frequency kick to your beats. If you want to speed things up for an energetic anime-mix or hyper-pop session, the Nightcore filter speeds up the playback speed and raises the pitch for an intense, high-energy vibe.

Lo-Fi Chill & Dreamscapes: Vaporwave & 8D

When it is time to wind down, study, or chill, the Vaporwave filter slows down the tempo and shifts the pitch, creating a dreamy lo-fi lounge sound. You can also try 8D surround, which moves the audio back and forth between your left and right headphone channels to wrap the sound around you.

Sing Along Mode

Use the Karaoke filter to lower mid-range vocal frequencies so your community can sing along during server karaoke nights.

Show Filter Commands
?filter bass / bassboost Boost low-frequency beat depth (Premium)
?filter nightcore Elevate tempo speed and vocal pitch (Premium)
?filter vaporwave Slow rate and rotate frequencies (Premium)
?filter treble / 8d Crisp vocals or 3D panning rotating effect (Premium)
?filter karaoke / distortion Vocal suppressor or high-gain overdrive (Premium)
?filter clear Remove all equalizers and reset to default audio (Free)

Web Dashboard

Visual Server Management

Discord text commands are quick, but managing a large community is much easier when you can see everything. That is why Anya has a dedicated Web Dashboard, giving you a clean visual control panel to customize the bot for your server.

Why Use the Dashboard?

Instead of memorizing prefixes and command syntaxes, the dashboard lets you change settings with simple clicks. You can select your DJ roles from dropdown menus, edit custom greeting messages, change prefixes instantly, and toggle music control buttons on and off.

Secure Discord Login

Logging in is safe and secure. By signing in with your Discord account using standard OAuth2 authentication, Anya checks your server roles. Only servers where you have 'Manage Server' permissions will show up, keeping your server settings safe and private.

Is Dashboard Login Safe?

Absolutely. We use Discord's official secure login system (OAuth2). This means you never share your Discord password with us. Discord just verifies your identity and tells us which servers you manage so we can load them.

Profiles & Spotify

Community Rewards & Spotify Sync

Listening to music is better together. Anya rewards members who hang out in your server's voice channels with a built-in Listening Levels and XP system.

Listener XP & Profile Cards

The more time users spend listening to music in voice channels with others, the more experience points (XP) they earn. Over time, they level up and display their dedication on a beautiful, custom listener profile card. This card shows their level, total minutes listened, and favorite requested tracks, making voice channels a fun hangout space.

What are Listening Levels & XP?

XP stands for "Experience Points". Think of it as a fun reward score for listening to music with friends. The longer you hang out and stream music in VC, the higher your score climbs, showing everyone that you are a top music fan in the server.

Personal Spotify Integration

Tired of searching for tracks one-by-one? You can link your Spotify account securely. Once connected, Anya imports your personal taste, letting you play your Spotify Liked Songs, private playlists, and customized mixes instantly with simple shortcut commands.

Personal Locale Overrides

Users in multilingual servers can change their personal language settings with the userlanguage command, translating bot responses just for them.

Show Profiles Commands
?profile Display level, XP, and listening minutes card
?spotify bind <profileLink/ID> Connect Spotify profile URL to import taste
?spotify unbind Unlink Spotify account data from bot database
?userlanguage <locale> Set personal translation locale overrides

Premium Access

Bypassing Standard Player Limits

If you run a dedicated 24/7 radio station, a study room, or a continuous hangout lounge, standard bot limits can get in the way. Free music bots automatically leave channels when they become empty to save system bandwidth.

24/7 Voice Channel Connection

Anya's 24/7 Mode keeps the bot in your voice channel permanently, meaning it will never disconnect even if everyone leaves. This is perfect for lo-fi study channels or lounge rooms where members join and leave throughout the day.

High-Fidelity 320kbps Streams

While free bots compress audio down to 96kbps to save bandwidth, Anya's Premium mode unlocks high-fidelity 320kbps audio streaming. This removes the metallic, compressed sound and delivers crystal-clear sound quality for headphone users and audiophiles.

What is Audio Bitrate (320kbps)?

Bitrate is the speed at which music data is sent to your speakers. Standard free bots compress music data (96kbps) which makes it sound flat or metallic. Anya's 320kbps streams carry triple the music data, matching high-quality headphones and home theaters for rich, clear sound.

Show Premium Features
?247 <on/off/status> Keep the bot inside voice channel permanently (on/off/status)
320kbps Audio Automatic crisp audio quality streaming boost
Cloud Playlists Save and retrieve up to 100 server-side playlists

Troubleshooting

Resolving Audio Lags & Permissions

Even with great hosting servers, Discord voice connections can sometimes crackle, lag, or stop playing. These issues are usually very easy to fix in a few seconds.

Fixing Audio Crackle & Lag

Audio lag is almost always caused by network routing delays between Discord's servers and Anya's music nodes. If your music starts crackling, go to your Discord channel settings and switch the Voice Region to a different location. This refreshes the connection routing instantly and fixes voice lags.

What is a Voice Region?

Think of it like choosing a different highway. If the default highway has heavy traffic or is too long, the music will lag. Switching the voice region selects a closer, faster highway for your voice data, fixing audio stutter immediately.

Permission Settings

If Anya is in your server but doesn't join voice channels or respond to commands, double-check permissions. Anya needs 'View Channel', 'Send Messages', and 'Connect' permissions in the text and voice channels you are using. If you forget your custom prefix, just tag the bot in chat to see the active prefix.
